HI Everyone:

Our Transportation Day presentation to students at Redding School of the Arts was well received and lots of fun. We met with four groups of at least 35 students. Andrea led off with an introduction about the 99s. And then she got their attention and involvement with her impersonation of a helicopter…you really had to be there! We had 6 presenters, Andrea Williams, Barbara Crooker, Suann Prigmore, Julie Ostendorf, Diana Ward, and Donna Taylor.

TIME CHANGE: Please note that the Board will meet Thurs. April 5th at 11:30AM at the Cheesecake Factory on Cypress.

NEXT MEETING: Be sure to come ready for fun & games with prizes. At 7:30 Monday, April 9th, Hillside Aviation Bldg.

FLYING COMPANION SEMINAR: We are now firmly scheduled for this seminar. They are loads of fun and wonderfully helpful to possible pilots. Plan to help! Contact Cheryl Knight or Andrea Williams.

Our March meeting was brief, but we did vote to recommend a discussion at the next Convention of a Web or e-Mail site for candidates for election to communicate with members.

Following our March meeting we had guest speaker, John Doig. John made a power point presentation of his fascinating history in aviation. He constructed (his first attempt) a small helicopter; he flew a King Air in Africa; spent time flying in Dubai; he home built a Titan Tornado in his apartment in state of Maine while organizing construction of a 125’ yacht for a wealthy Italian. His humor and stories were just delightful. There was so much more, but space here won’t permit. We had several guests who enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you, Suann for the program, and to all who brought refreshments and punch.

On March 17th we had a visit from 6 members of the Redwood Coast chapter and two from Santa Rosa. Several of us took them on a walking tour of the Sundial Bridge and had lunch at Peter Chu’s Skyroom.

*Safety Meetings: Mark your calendars for a Safety Meeting at Benton Field the second Saturday of every month. Located at hangars to southeast of runway (next to end). Conducted by Bill Hill and hosted by the EAA. At 10AM. (Following is a BBQ lunch usually available for $5)

Filosofy: A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

FLY WITH FLAIR!
