Hi Everyone,

Several attended the Section Meeting in Ashland.  Our scheduled delegates were Barbara Crooker, Lois Erickson, Sue Kerr, Andrea Williams, Diane Berry, Cheryl Knight, Diana Ward and Suann Prigmore.  Bad weather closed off some attendees, but Barbara Crooker arrived a day early and her hard work paid off.  She received the Governor’s Award.  She will report on the meeting Monday the 9th.

(DID ANYONE SEE THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ABOUT SUANN PRIGMORE FLYING INJURED WILDLIFE TO GAME PRESERVE?)

REDDING AIR SHOW:  We had 3 airplanes on display and an information table.  Several worked Friday on set-up and then on Sat. & Sun. during the show.  It was all brought about by Diana Ward who convinced the Exchange Club they needed 99s representation.

CAROLANN GARRATT:  We hope you attended the Corning EAA meeting on Sept. 2nd to hear CarolAnn Garratt’s program about her flight around the world.  She visited Redding on Sept. 1st when Suann took her to Mt. Lassen.  They climbed to Bumpass Hell and back.  Then into Redding where several of us met them to walk the Sundial Bridge.  CarolAnn is a delightful lady with poise and subtle exuberance.  All of us who met her enjoyed what felt like a lasting friendship.

NEW HORIZONS:  Several of you will remember Veretta Kizziar or Hayfork.  Veretta passed away in September.  She was a lovely and devoted family woman.  We have asked Veretta’s son for a suggestion for a donation from our chapter in her name.

VISITORS:  We welcomed 3 new visitors to our last meeting and hope to see them next meeting.   Unfortunately at our last meeting our business took too long at the  for us to have the program so it is re-scheduled for this coming meeting.

FLYING TRUTH:  Both optimists and pessimists contribute to the society.  The optimist invents the aeroplane, the pessimist the parachute.

FLY WITH FLAIR!
