Hi Everyone:

Looks like you all got along pretty well without me last meeting.  And I thought I was indispensable.  Sigh.

OK everyone!  We need to start planning our 30th Anniversary party.  Since we are doing the Father’s Day at Benton Field we probably want to do it the very end of June.  I have something of a list and plan to try to get in touch with everyone.  This will probably BE our summer party in place of our August hamburger feed at Taylor’s.  Do we want to do this at Taylor’s, or at the airport, or where???  Need you to all put on your thinking caps and help us get into the swing of this very soon.  Like, say, next meeting?

Andrea has recommended we fly out to McClellan Airpark on Feb 12th.  We will have lunch at Lion’s Gate, which used to be the Officer’s Club and is now an upscale hotel/conference center and restaurant.  She says the prices are decent and lunch is easily under $10.  Thos who plan to fly and have an empty seat contact Suann and she will see who has indicated they are available and want to come.  Let’s all hope for good weather.  It has been so long since we flew that we are getting grumpy.

Hopefully you all received Barbara Boot’s information on Mountain Flying seminar that will be in Corning airport on Feb. 5th.  Some of our officers will be at the Winter Board Meeting in Salt Lake City.  If you want to attend be sure to pre-register on line at

            www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.asph?eid=4689

Meeting is at 10AM.  Carol and Brian Carpenter have room for 100 people.  Following the meeting will be available a tri-tip lunch at noon .

EXCITING NEWS:  Our chapter has been asked to repaint a compass rose on the Redding Municipal Airport.  And all his been paid for by the contractor who has been doing the resurfacing there.  We have tentatively scheduled the first week-end in April to do it.  Of course, weather permitting.  Mark you calendars.  This will be fun and profitable for our chapter.  Barbara Boot is Airmarking Chairman.  Don’t let her down!!!   You are all needed and expected to help
